Whose Orangutan are you?

Credit: pexels-tara-winstead-8849295

What a fascinating article I came across   Here are some lines that made me think a lot:

  • The late Charlie Munger had a hack for making yourself instantly smarter: explain yourself to an orangutan.
  • Thinking is social even when there’s nobody around, because good thinkers have internalised the voices of others.
  • In lieu of actual person with whom you can “be really human” in person, just speaking your ideas aloud - or indeed writing them down - can help you work out the best version of those thoughts.

Please click here to read the article.

Now that you've read the article:

  • Do you have an orangutan to talk to? or more than one?
  • Are you an orangutan to someone? How was the experience for you?

Choosing your Mood - Every Day, Every Time

This post is about choosing our moods on a daily basis.

Some times we do it consciously, but most days we are reacting.

The above image (image sourced from Pinterest) got me thinking.  Some thoughts about this interesting image (you can substitute the word 'mood' for the word 'chair') :

1) Which of these chairs did you spend the maximum amount of time last week?
2) Which other chairs did you occupy during the week?
3) Which chair would you justify your choice the most, perhaps subconsciously?
4) In this week, which chairs would you intentionally like to spend the most time?
4a) In this week, which chairs would you intentionally like to AVOID spending the most time?
4b) What exactly will you do about these intentions?

Post your responses if you are comfortable, or don't.

Definitely do reflect on them and have a wonderful week.

Who are you, really?

I came across this superb song on YouTube some years ago.  It made me reflect a lot on what I was doing, why, for whom, and so on.

Recently, it showed up again on my playlist.  The reflection started again.  These lines made me rethink what I am focusing on in my life and my work.  I gave some focused thought to my strengths and whether I was actually using them at work and at home. How am I being perceived when I do this? Am I fully aware of myself? Is there something for me to let go? Add on? Continue doing?

What next for me? Perhaps a little more clarity on who I am, what I do....

You can listen to it here.

Leave a comment and let me know what you came up for you after you heard the song, or maybe just read these words on the picture.
