You may be aware about research from Gallup that has revealed that the prime reason that employees leave a job is because of their leader. Also, the prime reason that the engaged employees stay, is also their leader. While there are many different leadership styles, it would be dangerous to think that there is only one “magic bullet” style.
The workforce today is more educated and aware than what we were. They have far different needs, not just job security.
The leader has to spend that time in understand his team and their motivations, and then work from there. Because everyone's needs change over time, this indicates that understanding the employee’s needs is an ongoing process, and by extension, leading the team is an ongoing process too.
The Situational Leadership framework by CLS (Center for Leadership Studies), USA, will guide leaders (and managers) in their role of managing people and driving performance in a far more effective way. Situational Leadership® is a time-tested framework that originates from the core “Leadership is Influence”. Finally it is neutral with regard to both values and culture.
Synthesized and evolved through 50 years’ of dedicated research by Dr. Paul Hersey, the Situational Leadership® framework has benefitted organizations in the following ways:
- Brings in a common language that drives performance
- Prepares leaders to effectively deal with any situation, opportunity or a challenge
- Provides leaders with an action framework to immediately increase the quantity and quality of performance conversations
- Improves employee performance, development and engagement
- Changes mind-set from a focus on ‘people’ to ‘task-person-time’
- Improved employee retention and succession planning
Ryan has personally found this model of leadership to be most practically applicable in the workplace. He is certified by CLS to deliver this workshop and offer this as a 2 day program in conjunction with his business partner, Acumen Business Solutions.
Over a period of 2 days, participants go through a 360 assessment of their current leadership style, and are walked through the Situational Leadership Model along with it’s various nuances. We would need sufficient notice for the workshop because we have to procure the copyrighted material from CLS, USA.
Post the workshop, a strong and sustainable action plan is provided for the participants, along with additional support such as an app to help improve learning recall, discussion guides, e-learning modules for practice, and application in the real world.
